Fog Forces Postponement
For the first time in the 2008 season, the A's were the victim of the infamous Cape Cod fog, although it wasn't at Veterans Field, but at Whitehouse Field in neighboring Harwich. In a crucial game with the Mariners, play was suspended with men on second and third and no outs in the top of the third inning. Chatham was unfortunate to have the game halted, because they had an early 3-0 lead over the Mariners. Sammy Solis had allowed just one hit and struck out five through his two innings. Kyle Bellows doubled in Kyle Seager in the first, and drove in both Cory Olson and Seager in the third, on what would prove to be the final play of the game.

With no more off days on the schedule, the A's will be forced to play a doubleheader on Monday. They'll head to Whitehouse Field for the game with the Mariners, before returning to Veterans Field to take on the Cotuit Kettleers at 7. Chatham will be busy beforehand, as they travel to Eldredge Park to meet the Orleans Cardinals. Orleans is still in a position to clinch a playoff berth with a win, something the A's prevented on Tuesday night. Kyle Blair will start for the A's at 7 PM. Full coverage begins at 6:40 with the A's Extra Pregame Show.
