Chatham and Y-D, Game 2: Take Two
Following a rain-out on Friday night, the Chatham Anglers return to Veterans Field to face the Y-D Red Sox in Game 2 of a three-game playoff series at 6 p.m. on Saturday. The Red Sox took Game One 7-4 on Thursday at Red Wilson Field. San Diego's Michael Wagner (0-1, 7.94 ERA) suffered the loss for Chatham (5.2IP, 5H, 5ER, 2BB, 6K) while UC Irvine's Andrew Thurman (1-0, 7.20 ERA) earned the win for Y-D (5IP, 5H, 4ER, 3BB, 4K). At the dish, the Anglers were paced by the two-pronged attack of Boston College's John Hennessy and San Diego's Louie Lechich. Hennessy went 1 for 4 with a three-run home run and Lechich went 2 for 4 with a solo home run. Washington's Robert Pehl carried the Red Sox, going 2 for 4 with a two-run home run.

For Game 2, Maine's Tommy Lawrence (2-1, 3.55 ERA) is still scheduled to make the start for Chatham. In his last start against Harwich on August 3, Lawrence got a no-decision (6IP, 6H, 4R, 3ER, 2BB, 5K). A player who began the season on a temporary contract, Lawrence worked his way from the bullpen into the starting rotation.

With no scheduled starter listed, the Red Sox will likely stay with Marshall's Aaron Blair (6-0, 1.17 ERA) to start the game. Blair earned a save against Bourne in last last appearance on August 3 (2IP, 2H, 0ER, 1BB, 2K). A 2012 Cape League All-Star, Blair has dominated opposing lineups, only allowing five earned runs in the entire season.
