The San Francisco Giants used the 31st overall pick to select Boston College’s Chris Shaw (2014) in the 2015 MLB Draft on Monday night. He was the first Angler selected.
Shaw led the Anglers in home runs (8), RBIs (34), and doubles (10) in 2014. This season he led Boston College in home runs (11), RBIs (43), batting average (.319), slugging percentage (.611), and on-base percentage (.411).
Shaw was drafted in the 26th round out of high school by the New York Mets, before electing to attend Boston College. In 2014 he was named First-Team All-ACC and was named to the NEIBA and ABCA All-Northeast team.
