The second installment of Chatham Check-In covers two MLB debutants and four players from last summer's team.

Spencer Torkelson (2018-19)

Torkleson made his Tigers Major League debut against the White Sox on April 8. In 10 games, he's hitting .207 with six total hits, four runs scored and two home runs. The Arizona State product's first multi-hit game came against the Royals on April 15, when he went 2-for-3 with a home run and two walks. Torkelson has played first base in all 10 appearances with the Tigers.

Jeremy Pe'a (2017)

Pe'a was drafted in the third round by the Houston Astros in 2018. The 6-foot right-handed hitter was called up before the start of this season following three years in the minors. In 10 games, Pe'a has had 36 at bats, totalling 12 total hits and two home runs. He's posted a .333 batting average and a .375 on-base percentage.

In 2017, Pe'a appeared in 36 games with the Anglers, posting a .228 batting average. He had 29 hits and 13 RBIs, helping Chatham get to the East Division Series against Orleans. The Anglers lost the first game of the series 7-2, winning the second before ultimately falling in the final matchup 3-1.

Dylan Carmouche (2021)

Carmouche transferred to Tulane for his sophomore year after winning a national championship in 2021 with Mississippi State. The left-handed pitcher has developed into a starter after throwing just 7.1 innings for the Bulldogs in his first collegiate season. Carmouche has started all eight of his appearances. He has a 4-1 record, a 4:1 strikeout-to-walk ratio and a 4.21 ERA. Carmouche threw a complete game against Louisiana Tech on February 27, and tossed seven shutout innings against South Florida on April 9.

Last summer in Chatham, Carmouche went 1-2 in five appearances, picking up his only win against Bourne in mid-July. He struck out 22 batters, but gave up 22 hits. The 6-foot-6 lefty made his first appearance on the fourth of July.

Matt Hogan (2021)

Hogan transferred to South Carolina for his senior year following three seasons at Vanderbilt, the school where he won the national championship in 2019. The lefty bat slugs over .300 this season with the Gamecocks and flashes the leather with a perfect fielding percentage. Hogan hit a home-run in his first game with South Carolina on February 18.

Hogan was a staple in Chatham's lineup last summer. In 26 games, the Melville, N.Y. native hit four home runs and was tied for third on the team with 14 runs scored. The outfielder was second on the Anglers with five stolen bases.

Victor Mederos (2021)

Mederos is a sophomore pitcher at Oklahoma State after making 12 appearances at Miami last season, recording a 5.11 ERA. Mederos plays for the Cowboys under Josh Holiday, the oldest son of Chatham manager Tom Holliday. Through eight appearances this season at Oklahoma State, Mederos has allowed 44 hits over 42 innings, compiling a 5.79 ERA and a 3-2 record.

In Chatham last summer, Mederos pitched in seven games, notching a 4.64 ERA in just over 21 innings. The 6-foot-2 right-hander registered his longest appearance of the season against Falmouth on July 26, when he pitched six scoreless innings, struck out seven batters and allowed just one walk.

Danny Serretti (2021)

Serretti is a junior shortstop at North Carolina after starting all 55 games at the same position last season. Last year, Serretti had a .249 batting average, including nine home runs and 39 RBIs. So far this season, he's improved his batting average to .345, but only has one home run and 24 RBIs through 37 games.

With the Anglers last summer, Serretti had two home runs with a .282 batting average. His best performance came in a 10-5 over Wareham, when he had three hits and four RBIs in five trips to the plate. In 2019, Serretti played for the Orleans Firebirds, though he only appeared in 11 games.
