Twenty-four former Anglers were drafted in the 2022 MLB Draft, and one signed as an undrafted free agent with the Kansas City Royals. Ten players were chosen from this season's roster, bringing the total number of Anglers drafted to 105 over the past five years.

Here's what to know about the 25 former Anglers players who landed opportunities with major league organizations.

Kevin Parada '21 (Round 1, 11th overall ' New York Mets)

Despite falling further than expected, Parada was the first Anglers player selected. The catcher out of Georgia Tech became Chatham's highest pick since the Detroit Tigers selected Spencer Torkelson first overall in 2020. Parada hit .250 in nine games with the Anglers.

Carson Whisenhunt '22 (Round 2, 66th overall ' San Francisco Giants)

Whisenhunt was the first player from Chatham's 2022 team to be drafted, going to the Giants at the end of the second round. The left-hander logged a 7.87 ERA and 21 strikeouts over 16 innings this summer.

Nolan McLean '21 (Round 3, 81st overall ' Baltimore Orioles)

McLean, a two-way player, was the only former Angler the Orioles selected. He launched two home runs in 23 at-bats with Chatham. McLean drew nine walks and drove in six runs over eight games.

Brandon Sproat '21 (Round 3, 90th overall ' New York Mets)

Sproat joined Parada as part of the Mets' draft class. The right-hander pitched two innings in his lone appearance with Chatham. Sproat was the second pitcher selected by the Mets.

Trevor Martin '21/'22 (Round 3, 104th overall ' Tampa Bay Rays)

Martin was the first of two Anglers pitchers selected by the Rays. The righty out of Oklahoma State struck out 39 batters in 27.1 innings with the Anglers. Martin logged a 4.75 ERA with the Cowboys in the spring.

Alex McFarlane '21/'22 (Round 4, 122nd overall ' Philadelphia Phillies)

After spending two seasons with the Anglers, McFarlane was drafted by the Phillies in the fourth round. McFarlane allowed one run and struck out 16 batters in 12.2 innings this summer. He was released Monday.

Jacob Watters '21/'22 (Round 4, 124th overall ' Oakland Athletics)

Watters recorded 20 strikeouts in 12 innings over two seasons with the Anglers. The right-hander threw 3.1 scoreless innings against Wareham in his last appearance with Chatham. Watters capped a run of four Anglers pitchers selected across the third and fourth rounds.

Danny Serretti '21 (Round 6, 177th overall ' Detroit Tigers)

The switch-hitting infielder batted .282 in 85 at-bats with Chatham last summer before logging a .365 average with North Carolina in the spring. Serretti belted two home runs with Chatham. His final homer came in his last game, a 2-for-5 performance against Brewster.

Victor Mederos '21 (Round 6, 178th overall ' Los Angeles Angels)

Mederos made four starts and appeared in seven games with Chatham last summer. The right-hander blanked Falmouth over six innings in his best outing with the Anglers. Mederos most recently pitched for Oklahoma State, where he made 14 appearances this spring.

Zach Maxwell '21 (Round 6, 183rd overall ' Cincinnati Reds)

A 6-foot-6 right-hander, Maxwell punched out 25 batters in 11.2 innings with the Anglers. He did more of the same at Georgia Tech, fanning 84 batters in 51.1 innings this spring. He struck out160 batters over 97.2 innings in three seasons with the Yellow Jackets.

Chase Hampton '21 (Round 6, 190th overall ' New York Yankees)

Hampton accrued a 4.90 ERA over 11 innings with Chatham. He struck out 72 batters and logged a 4.29 ERA with Texas Tech in the spring.

Seth Stephenson '21 (Round 7, 207th overall ' Detroit Tigers)

Stephenson hit .333 in 21 at-bats with the Anglers before producing a .339/.408/.508 slash line with Tennessee in the spring. His best performance with Chatham came against Bourne, when he went 3 for 3 with a double and a triple.

Cy Nielson '21/'22 (Round 8, 230th overall ' Pittsburgh Pirates)

Nielson logged 37.1 innings over 12 appearances in two seasons with Chatham. The lefty was among the Anglers' best starters this summer, recording a 1.97 ERA while striking out 17 batters.

Cade Winquest '21 (Round 8, 247th overall ' St. Louis Cardinals)

Winquest pitched 19.1 innings for the Anglers last summer, finishing with a 2.79 ERA. He recorded a 5.40 ERA at Texas-Arlington this spring and was one of nine right-handed pitchers the Cardinals selected.

Maxwell Romero Jr. '21 (Round 9, 261st overall ' Washington Nationals)

Romero's best game with the Anglers came in a 12-3 win over Cotuit when he launched three home runs.

'Romero had one of the best performances I've ever seen in a baseball game,' Matt Hogan said.

Caeden Trenkle '21 (Round 9, 274th overall ' Oakland Athletics)

Trenkle played in 30 games with Chatham last season and notched 18 hits. He brought in 10 runs with the Anglers before recording 41 RBIs with the Cowboys this spring. He earned honorable mention All-Big 12 honors in 2021.

Chris Villaman '22 (Round 9, 284th overall ' Tampa Bay Rays)

Villaman started three games for the Anglers, recording a 2.93 ERA. He began his high school career on junior varsity, something he said helped his maturation as a pitcher. Villaman served as North Carolina State's primary closer in 2022.

Joe Miller '22 (Round 11, 327th overall ' Detroit Tigers)

Manager Tom Holliday said Miller can 'spin it,' and he notched 17 strikeouts in 14.1 innings with the Anglers. He was the University of Pennsylvania's go-to pitcher throughout 2022 and led all Ivy League players with 74.1 innings pitched.

Magnus Ellerts '22 (Round 11, 331st overall ' Cleveland Guardians)

Ellerts posted a 2.84 ERA and 21 strikeouts over 12.2 innings with Chatham. The right-hander dominated at Florida SouthWestern, striking out 101 batters in 69 innings this year.

Mat Peters '22 (Round 12, 356th overall ' Chicago Cubs)

Peters had one of the strongest arms on Chatham's roster this season, able to reach triple-digits with his fastball. He was committed to Miami University (Ohio) after spending the last year at Ivy Tech Community College. The right-hander pitched two innings with the Anglers in 2022.

Miguel Fulgencio '22 (Round 13, 380th overall ' Pittsburgh Pirates)

At Cowley County Community College, Fulgencio recorded a 2.73 ERA in his freshman year and a 1.83 ERA his sophomore year. The left-hander totaled one inning over two appearances with Chatham this summer.

Bryce Osmond '21 (Round 15, 448th overall ' Los Angeles Angels)

Osmond struck out 26 batters in 21.1 innings with the Anglers. He struck out 77 batters at Oklahoma State this season and recorded a 4.75 ERA. Osmond notched a career-high 11 strikeouts against West Virginia in 2022.

Adam Tulloch '21 (Round 15, 451st overall ' Cleveland Guardians)

Tulloch pitched 29 innings for Chatham last season, striking out 43 batters while allowing 13 earned runs. He pitched in four games for Bourne this summer and recorded a 5.40 ERA. Tulloch joined Ellerts as a member of Cleveland's 2022 draft class.

Sebastian Keane '21 (Round 18, 550th overall ' New York Yankees)

Keane recorded a 3.85 ERA over 21 innings with Chatham last summer before going back to Northeastern. The right-hander was drafted in the 11th round of the 2019 MLB Draft by the Red Sox.

Nicholas Regalado '22 (Undrafted free agent ' Kansas City Royals)

Regalado recorded a 4.18 ERA with Chatham after posting a 3.86 ERA at Florida SouthWestern in 2022. Holliday was a fan of Regalado's 'touch,' which helped him strike out 28 batters this season.
