Chatham’s July 13 away contest against Cotuit has been postponed due to rain in the area. The game will be made up on Thursday, July 18.
Saturday’s matchup was set to feature both No. 2 seeds in each division. The Anglers hold a 12-11 record this summer, boosted by a 7-3 start to the month of July — which is the best mark for an East Division club. While the Kettleers of the West boast a 14-9 record and possess the third-highest run differential (+21) in the Cape Cod Baseball League. The two teams are 1-1 against each other, with the most recent outcome being a 4-2 A’s win on July 5.
With the scheduling change, Chatham will have two off days in the next three days, as it has a planned off-day scheduled for July 15. The rainout also means the Anglers will play six games in a row from July 16-21.
The A’s have now had two games rescheduled in 2024. The first came back on June 30, when a Chatham home game versus Harwich was postponed and moved to July 11. Last season, the Anglers had a total of nine matchups postponed.
