Chatham’s (16-15, East) home contest versus Hyannis (17-13-1, West) Wednesday has been postponed due to fog in the area. The game will be rescheduled for Sunday, July 28, at Veterans Field.
Wednesday’s matchup was originally scheduled to feature the East Division’s No. 2 seed against the West Division’s No. 3 seed. The Anglers have posted an 11-7 record in July thus far, a stark improvement from their 5-8 mark throughout June. The Harbor Hawks have been firmly within the West Division postseason picture all season, and also hold a 2-1 record over the A’s this summer.
The two teams last squared off on July 19 at Hyannis. Chatham fell 6-0 in its second shutout loss of the season, both of which came against the Harbor Hawks. Since that contest, the Anglers have gone 1-2 with a win over Brewster and losses to Falmouth and Cotuit.
The A’s will now face off against Hyannis for the final time of the 2024 regular season Sunday. The game comes one day after Saturday’s 2024 CCBL All-Star Game. Chatham has had three games postponed due to weather and one called early, which coincidentally was a home matchup against Hyannis that ended in the fifth inning because of fog.
