Through the lens of Emma Connelly | Chatham Photography 2023 | Week Four
An eventful week for the Anglers, which included a July 4 parade, multiple fog-outs and two victories over Harwich in a span of four days, brought about a series of new photos too. Here is what another week of Chatham baseball looks like through the lens of team photographer Emma Connelly.

In Chatham’s 8–1 defeat of the Mariners on June 30, the notorious “fifth-inning fog” at Veterans Field seeped in fast. Gabe Davis, pictured above, pitched four innings in relief of Chatham’s starting pitcher, Tanner Witt. Davis allowed only one run and garnered two strikeouts.

In five at-bats during the A’s 8–1 win against Harwich, Chatham’s Kaeden Kent produced two hits and scored a run. The infielder is shown here catching a ball at first base through thick haze with the scoreboard in the backdrop. Kent’s .286 batting average is good for second on the team for batters with at least 2.7 plate appearances per game.

Lyle Miller-Green’s three-RBI home run in the fifth inning of Chatham’s 10–6 win over Harwich on Monday led to smiles from just about everybody at Veterans Field. In this photo, the Austin Peay power-hitter is shown posing with a group of young fans after the game. The victory was an uplifting moment for all Anglers supporters and teammates, as Chatham snapped a two-game losing streak.

Main Street, Chatham, Mass., July 4

July 4 is celebrated nation-wide, but the holiday on the Cape features a parade throughout individual towns. Chatham residents and tourists can interact with their favorite Anglers players while the team takes a float down Main Street, passing out July 4th-themed souvenirs. The joyous celebration through the town is a spectacle, and thousands of people show up through rain or sunshine.
