PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE

elcome to another summer season of Chatham Anglers Cape Cod League
baseball! 2024 starts Chatham’s second hundred years in the league, a
tribute to Chatham, our fans, and to all of our Chatham Athletic Association
Wmembers. We look forward to bringing you another season of exciting and
fun Chatham Anglers baseball at Veterans Field.

In this yearbook you’ll find information on our 2024 Chatham Angler players, coaches,
and support staff. Inside you’ll also see our thanks and appreciation to our 800+
generous boosters and our recognition of the many individuals, local businesses,
civic organizations, and the Town of Chatham personnel who provide support to our
organization. Finally, this yearbook also thanks the volunteers, interns, host families,
post-game meal donors, bat boys, and others who are all essential for us to bring first-
class, Chatham Anglers summer baseball to Veterans Field.

Speaking of Veterans Field, over the last decade we have collaborated with the Town to make many enhancements to
upgrade the facility. A new field lighting system was installed in 2014, followed by a new press box scoreboard in 2016,
a new outfield scoreboard with a pitch velocity indicator in 2019, a new bleacher system in 2019, a better backstop
safety netting system in 2022, and a new pitch clock system in 2023. Our latest improvement is the installation this
spring of a new batters eye backdrop beyond the center field fence at Veterans Field. All of these improvements were
made to benefit our players and/or our fans and we thank our fans for their generous support in helping make all these
improvements a reality. We’re biased, but we believe Veterans Field is the finest baseball venue on Cape Cod.

We are excited to be bringing in a new manager, Jeremy ‘Sheets’ Sheetinger to lead our team in 2024. Sheets brings a
new energy and new ideas with him, and we’re looking forward to seeing his inaugural team perform. We’re confident
Sheets has brought a talented group of players from across the country to Chatham, players who hope to shine on
the Cape League stage as they pursue their dreams of reaching the major leagues. There are currently over 30 former
Anglers in the major leagues, including 2022 World Series MVP Jeremy Pena (2017), 2022 starting All-Star game pitcher
Alek Manoah (2018) and the #1 draft pick in the 2020 draft, Spencer Torkelson (2018-9).

So, whether you’re a long-time Angler fan, a first-time visitor, or fit somewhere in between, we hope you have a
wonderful Veterans Field experience, one that provides you with great summer memories! Be sure to experience all
we have to offer. Browse our merchandise booth to purchase Angler logo gear, visit our concession stand to indulge
in our wide array of delectable items, enter our 50/50 raffle to win great prizes & cash, and please donate generously
when you arrive or when we ‘pass the hat’ through the stands. You can also follow all the Chatham Angler action live
