CHATHAM ANGLERS PLAYERS 2017




                             JOHN AIELLO – INF – S-R LANDSDALE, PA – SOPHOMORE
                             6’2 – 200 LBS. – WAKE FOREST
                            John returns to the Chatham Anglers for his second summer of play at Veterans Field. He recently completed his sophomore year
                            for Wake Forest, moving from shortstop to third base, and at bat raising his average by more than 100 points and increasing his
                            power output. D-1 Baseball.com rated John the #8 freshman in their 2016 pre-season poll.  He is considered among the top 150
                            players for the 2018 Major League Baseball Draft.





                             D.J. ARTIS – OF – L-L GREENSBORO, NC – SOPHOMORE
                             5’10 – 190 LBS. – LIBERTY
                            D.J. Artis, who recently completed his sophomore season at Liberty, is returning to the Anglers for his second season. D.J. played
                            primarily in leftfield for the Flames, but can play any outfield position as he covers a lot of ground and has a strong arm.  D.J. was
                            recently named the Big South Conference Player of the Year, a year after receiving numerous freshman All-American accolades.






                             JEFF BELGE – LHP – L-L SYRACUSE, NY – FRESHMAN
                             6’5 – 230 LBS. – ST. JOHN’S
                            One of the top high school prospects in the country in 2016, Jeff Belge recently completed his freshman season for St. John’s University.
                            Jeff was rated in 2016 as the 36th best high school prospect in the country and second best in New York. He was drafted by the
                            Boston Red Sox in Round 32 of the 2016 Major League Baseball’s First Year Player Draft. He was a 2016 High School All-American.
                            He averaged a strike-out per inning and kept opposing hitters to a low .200 batting average.




                             AUSTIN BERGNER – RHP – R-R WINDMERE, FL – FRESHMAN
                             6’4 – 185 LBS. – NORTH CAROLINA
                            Austin Bergner recently completed his freshman season for the nationally ranked University of North Carolina. Austin will join UNC
                            teammates Luca Dalatri, Cody Roberts and Ashton McGee who are scheduled to play for the Anglers this season. As a senior in high
                            school, Austin gained many awards including being a 2016 High School All-American in 2016. Baseball America rated Austin as the
                            28th best high school prospect, while Sports Illustrated named him as the third best high school pitcher in the Class of 2016. He
                            was drafted by the Boston Red Sox in the 38th round of the 2016 Major League Baseball First Year Player Draft.



                             CAMERON BISHOP – LHP – L-L BREA, CA – JUNIOR
                             6’4 – 235 LBS. – CALIFORNIA-IRVINE
                            Cameron Bishop missed the 2017 season for the University of California Irvine due to injury. Cameron is another lefty power pitcher
                            on this summer’s Anglers team. In 2016, Cameron won five games while striking out 79 hitters in 70.1 innings pitched. Cameron
                            has been utilized as a two-way player during his first two collegiate seasons. Cameron was drafted in the 32nd Round of the 2014
                            MLB First Year Player Draft by the Arizona Diamondbacks. Cameron co-founded a national non-profit called, “Dreamcatchers” that
                            services terminally ill hospice patients.




                             GAGE CANNING – OF – L-R RAMONA, CA – SOPHOMORE
                             6’3 – 205 LBS. – ARIZONA STATE
                            Gage Canning recently completed his sophomore season for Arizona State, leading the Sun Devils in hitting. During the course of
                            the season Gage demonstrated the ability to hit for both average and power. As a freshman in 2016, Gage was named PAC-12 All
                            Conference, honorable mention. Gage was a member of the 2015 Louisville Slugger High School All-America Team.
