CAMERON BENSON - INF, AKRON
FRESHMAN, 6-FOOT-3, 175 LBS.
A freshman from Farmington Hills, Michigan, Benson hit a home run in his first collegiate game and became a fixture in the
Akron starting lineup for head coach Chris Sabo. The Zips’ shortstop started 43 games as of May 9, with a batting average of
.264 and 23 RBI, seven doubles and five home runs. Benson was a MHSBCA All-Star in 2021 and played in an All-Star game at
Comerica Park last summer.
CONNOR BOVAIR - RHP, NORTH CAROLINA
SOPHOMORE, 6-FOOT-2, 210 LBS.
Bovair is in his first season at UNC after his freshman year at Siena. The Moreau, New York native was an All-MAAC rookie team
selection in 2021 after he threw four complete games for the Saints. In his second collegiate campaign, Bovair has served multiple
roles for the Tar Heels, starting eight of his 17 appearances. The righty has struck out 44 batters as of May 9; his season high of
seven Ks came against Elon on February 22.
CAM BROWN - RHP, TEXAS CHRISTIAN
SOPHOMORE, 6-FOOT-3, 215 LBS.
In his second season at TCU, Brown has moved into an increased role. After three successful starts and a 1.93 ERA as a freshman,
the Texan got the ball in seven of his 10 appearances as of May 9. A former Perfect Game All-American, Brown racked up 38
strikeouts, the fourth-most on the Horned Frogs. Baseball America ranked the Flower Mound High School graduate the No. 131
prospect in the class of 2020.
MARCUS BROWN - INF, OKLAHOMA STATE
SOPHOMORE, 5-FOOT-11, 187 LBS.
Brown took over as Josh Holiday’s starting shortstop at Oklahoma State, and after a steady start to his sophomore campaign,
his bat caught fire in the month of April. The native of Springdale, Arkansas, hit .393 and scored 16 runs through 18 games in
April. Last summer, Brown was named the Appalachian League Player of the Year after leading the league with a .407 batting
average and a .602 slugging percentage in 35 games for the Elizabethton River Riders.
DYLAN CARMOUCHE - LHP, TULANE
SOPHOMORE, 6-FOOT-6, 225 LBS.
Carmouche returns for his second summer in Chatham after his sophomore season at Tulane. The left-handed pitcher developed
into a starter after throwing just 7.1 innings for 2021 national champion Mississippi State in his first collegiate season. Carmouche
had a 5-2 record, an 8-to-3 strikeout-to-walk ratio and a 3.72 ERA as of May 9. Last summer in Chatham, the Louisianan went
1-2 in five appearances, picking up his only win against Bourne in mid-July.
JOHNNY CASTAGNOZZI - INF, NORTH CAROLINA
SOPHOMORE, 6-FOOT-2, 197 LBS.
Another second-year Angler, Castagnozzi played both right-side infield spots for North Carolina. As of May 9, the Long Islander
hit .282, and his 47 base knocks rank third among all Tar Heels. Castagnozzi got off to a hot start to the 2022 season, hitting
.410 through the first month of play. New York’s top shortstop in the 2020 class played 14 games last summer for Chatham and
hit two home runs.
